On the heels of the announcement that the season finale will be airing on Netflix, the cast of Adventure Time has revealed that it will soon be leaving the Cartoon Network series after eight seasons.
As the episode is a part of a “big splash adventure” that will be aired as part of Cartoon Network’s Adventure Time: Adventure Time Castle in the Sky special on Netflix on April 3, 2017, the show’s star Finn Wolfhard recently tweeted out a message from the set of the upcoming episode, which will be titled “Finn Wolfhard Returns.”
The message reads, in part, “I’m a big fan of ‘Adventure Island’ and I’m also a big Disney fan, so I can tell you I’m leaving ‘Adventure Castle in The Sky’ this season.
I think it’s time for a big splash and a fresh start.
Thank you for the opportunity.”
The episode will premiere with a new cast of characters, including a new narrator, Jake Gyllenhaal, who has been in the series for four years.
The new narrator will be voiced by a woman, Kaitlin Olson, who is best known for her work on “The Simpsons.”
The new episode will also include new characters such as Jake’s older sister, Finn, a girl named Jake, and the title character’s dog, Tootie.
It will also be the last episode of Adventure Island, which ends with Finn, Jake, Finn and Jake’s friends escaping from a dungeon with the help of the princess and Princess Bubblegum, who will make them all go to a castle on a new island.
